I love "Survivor." I get a little thrill when I hear the "wa-ha-HA! DodoDOH do dododeedahdoday" at the beginning of each episode. I love the Salon updates about "Survivor," especially the current one, hilariously titled "I, Tina!" I love it to the point that I actually taped the last episode, which I couldn't devote my full attention to because I was working late last night, and plan to watch it in its entirety at some point this weekend even thought I already know who won. I love that it owns its campiness and overdramatization so completely. And I don't even love it in the guilty way you love Pop Tarts or SUVs or other things you know are empty, guilty pleasure -- I actually believe it makes people think about strategy and ethics and the meaning of loyalty, and have conversations they wouldn't otherwise have. Unparalleled quality entertainment, I say.
