four tidbits of linky goodness

1. Ten years from now, everyone will be able to repeat "I did not have sexual relations with that woman," but no one will remember this. There's evasive lying about a tawdry affair, and then there's straight-up lying about foreign policy matters that affect the course of history, not to mention the lives of millions of people. One gets you impeached; the other, at worst, gets you ignored. Which is which? Disgusting.

2. At least some people are as bitter as I am: 525 reasons to dump Bush.

3. "Is it fair to demand of novels that they be articulate and reasonable, that they attempt in some way to make the world a better place?" Personally, I think the answer is no, but it's a good question.

4. A beautiful summer poem.
