juniper and lamplight
It's raining on top of the snow right now just like it always used to -- and presumably still does -- in Connecticut. Dark December days make me want the library at Wesleyan... I spent quite a lot of time there, especially in my thesis carrel or the downstairs reading room that was halfway underground, whispering to T. and sneaking sips of instant hot chocolate made with coffee. Would be nice to be there right now, in one of the big armchairs by the windows reading one of these, many of which have just graced my ridiculously extensive wishlist. (Idea stolen from the stupendous Bookslut.)

It's such a cliché to want good books and hot drinks and warm light and big armchairs on cold, rainy days, but there you have it. Unlike rules, clichés are made to be proven correct.
