brown paper packages tied up with strings

It is fall, and that is my favorite thing.

I am now going to spend the rest of the evening unpacking all my junk and reading the new J*nnifer W*iner book with the ridiculous cover that I spent a ridiculous amount of money on this weekend. I can't remember the last time I bought a new hardcover book, but between this and Sunday's ticket to "In Her Shoes," I might as well start mailing my paycheck directly to Ms. W*iner. But I would, if she wanted, because I love her.

I'm very curious to hear what you think about Goodnight Nobody. I bought it in hardcover, too. And I'm dying to see In Her Shoes.

Happy Birthday!

Also, I got that book for my birthday. I haven't had time to read it yet, though. Maybe I'll read it next, so we can talk about it.

Little Earthquakes is the best one, I think. I feel disloyal to Cannie just thinking that, though. :) You know, because it's not like she's a REAL PERSON or anything. Although I did recently read a short story Weiner wrote from Bruce Guberman's perspective (chronologically a prequel to Good in Bed) in a collection of short stories by "chick lit" authors (compiled for charity). It was really interesting to see Cannie from his point of view, and I can't wait for the Good in Bed sequel.

Oooh, I just read that one, too, Angie. It was one of the 10 books I got for my birthday.
