fall stories

Pretty lake in New York, near where J. and I went camping this weekend. It was fun and lovely and cold, but not too cold.

Pre-camping, we went to Storm King, which is an amazing outdoor sculpture museum. For scale, I am sitting at the base of that sculpture. Big, yes?

Post-camping, we went to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Also amazing. For scale, that is a tiny plane very far up in the sky. Small, no?

And, for the opening 30 for 30 goal, we have the first entry for #18. Behold, rust:

girl, no one takes a gorgeous photo of rust like you do. this one is quite lovely, but I'm going to send you some of the ones that you took with my camera at Strasburg last Xmas which I (and Dar Williams) find even more compelling and evocative (maybe just much as are the hills of Iowa) as this (also very nice) one.

also, I noticed goal #20, which I did not read carefully before. I heart humpback rock. Can the Sash and the Kev and I join you and Jared and Shannon when you go?

Lol. I was going to ask if we could go to that one, too. I've never been to that area. :)

I heart Humback Rock, too. I told G. we should go next fall, when the leaves change. I don't think the leaves are going to be very pretty this year.

Yay, we'll all go to the rock together! Next fall it is, provided global warming doesn't ruin that one too.
