H. and I watched snakes eat mice this weekend! (That even calls for an exclamation point, a seldom-used form of punctuation here at Take It Easy.) It was so Discovery Channel. Very amazing and primitive. Their jaws really do unhinge. I thought it would bother me a lot more than it actually did, honestly -- I'm so squeamish about raw meat that you'd think watching something strangle and consume a mouse would be very disturbing, but it actually seemed natural and right somehow. We even held the snakes soon afterward, and you could feel the big lump of dead mouse in their bodies. Squicky but incredible.
