in motion
Today's e-mail from Knopf's National Poetry Month's daily updates was a new translation of Sappho; the really cool book, which I gave my cousin for Chanukah, has the Greek on the left side and the English on the right. One of the fragments from today's e-mail:

I would not think to touch the sky with two arms

Mm. I like that. I've been concentrating on the "... but take it" part of the "take it easy" equation recently, and it is healthy and boundary-challenging and good for me, but it's also scary and difficult and leaves me feeling tense, needy, self-conscious, melodramatic, less like myself than usual. It leaves me racing. I would not think to touch the sky with two arms.
