Leafygreen's First-Ever Breaking News Update: Chucky Caught!
And none too soon. Six no-chicken days in a row -- that's fit for neither human nor reptile.
Thankfully, Chucky was recovered safely. He was not shot. We saw video of his capture on CNN, and he looked fine, although some guy was sitting on his back... probably standard procedure for securing 12-foot alligators who can swallow grown humans whole, but still. Chucky is not a chair.
This also was occasion for the most inane comment ever heard on CNN. The anchor, interviewing some guy who works for an alligator rescue league, asked moronically and slightly hysterically, "Why would you ever have a job like that?" Um, hello? Did the guy not just secure a 12-foot alligator who can swallow grown humans whole? Did he need a chair and thought becoming an alligator rescuer would be the easiest way to get one?
Welcome home, Chucky. Most of you know how I feel about zoos, but I think this turned out best for all involved. Somewhere in Alabama, a happy alligator sleeps tonight.
