the moral of the story
I love this list of What Literature Has Taught [Him], especially the "Lord of the Rings" and Bible entries. Ha. It also made me want to add my own: "The Naked and the Dead" taught me that war is bad, that being both naked and dead at once is less than desirable, and that I really don't need to personally climb a scary mountain in Japan to figure any of that out.
