... and washed...
That one early-success row of arugula -- which was of the roquette variety; the other two are wild arugula and some unidentified kind that my old neighbor contributed -- seems like it might have run its course. Almost all of it is flowering, even though I've pinched most of the flowers off at some point. And the leaves that are left are getting really big and their taste is really strong, verging on bitter. I still like the flavor, but I think it's about done.
Anyone know what you do at this stage? Do I pull the plants up, or take off all the leaves, or keep pinching off flowers and see if new leaves grow with that old baby arugula taste? (They don't seem to be on the plants I've already pinched.) (And if it does grow, I need more arugula recipes, stat...)

yummy!!!!
I have no idea what you do now. I'll be interested to hear what feedback you get.
Wow - I can't believe how fast that grew! That is awesome.
As the taste gets stronger, you can consider freezing some to put away for winter (to use in soups and such) -- freezing will tone down the taste somewhat. I have no idea what to do now, though.
I saw baby peppers in my garden today - I squealed!
How about a homemade pizza with arugula on it? That would work for now, and wouldn't be too overwhelming with a stronger arugula taste.
No idea about how to get it be baby arugula again. Maybe if you cut it down almost to the ground? When I do that to my basil, it sprouts all up again.
what in the world does it say behind the lady bust in the photo at the top left corner of your blog?
Hahahah -- she is a human snake, from the NY State Fair last year! I don't know why that is coming out so small, though... it doesn't mean much if you can't see the words. I will change.
