A little P.S. to yesterday's annoyed rant: This morning, THIS MORNING, I went to sign into into my Netscape mail (which, by the way, only works intermittently and is generally a very unreliable product -- not that that means it should be taken off the market). What do I see? Use your Netscape, AOL, CompuServe or AIM Screen Name to sign in. And so it begins.
I am surprising myself with the vehemence I feel about this... like I said, I never even thought that much about Netscape before. And I don't mean to just jump on the Bill-hating bandwagon. (I have to admit I'm somewhat pleased that he will at least be using his vast fortunes to hopefully make my friend, who is smart and talented and deserves a cool job, a quasillionaire by his 30th birthday.) But it really is sort of scary. His business tactics are scary, and it's scary that we are a nation of Internet users signed, stamped, and approved by one single guy and his minions.
