I sort of figured out the answer to the question below -- in trying to be all cross-platform blah blah, I opened it in IE, and that's where I see the slight color difference. I don't, however, see it in Netscape (please note my restraint in refraining from snarky comments about the whole takeover thing). I also don't see it when I actually open the pages online, as opposed to just in a non-connected web browser. In any case, the point is that I think I'm just going to ignore it and deal with it when and if these pages actually goes up. But I think I might actually stick to a white background anyway... I tend to make my life more complicated than necessary, and always choose colors and patterns if there's a choice -- but during all my tests trying to figure out what was wrong with the unmatching colors, I realized the white background looked rather stark and clean. Hm. Perhaps inspired by Sara's simplest of things, we may be ushering in an Age of Simplicity here at take it easy ... but I wouldn't hold my breath. Simplicity has never been my strong suit. :)
